Katumi Mohammed Oboirien has over ten years of experience as a pro-bono
lawyer and legal practitioner with the Legal Aids Council of Nigeria and
as the Principal partner of Al-Naseerah chambers. She is the founder of
Al-Naseerah legal clinic, a non for profit organization, co-founder of
The Network of Pro-bono Lawyers in Nigeria with over six years
experience as Senior Programme officer with Prisoners Rehabilitation and
Welfare Action (PRAWA). She holds a law degree from the Ahmadu Bello
University, Zaria and has a master’s degree in Business and commercial
law and currently undergoing a master at law degree in International law
and jurisprudence with specialization in Human right laws and
terrorism at the Bayero University, Kano.
Katumi is a member of International Federation of Women Lawyers in Nigeria and former, financial secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Kano Branch. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow (MWF) and holds the University of Delaware Global MWF Superlative Awards as The Most Dedicated.
Director of Communications
Andrea is a human rights lawyer, a development communications
practitioner, and women’s rights activist with over four years of
multi-sectoral experience in human rights law and gender development,
particularly as it relates to the promotion and protection of the
sexual, reproductive, and socio-economic rights of girls and women in
Nigeria.
She studied Law at Benue State University, and upon graduation, attended the Nigerian Law School, Bwari Campus. In her spare
time, Andrea loves to write, read and spend quality time with her loved
ones.
